Formica®Colors: A harmonised colour palette for Architects and Designers
December 2010
Following extensive research, striking new colour families have been developed by the Formica Group for the popular Formica® Colors High Pressure Laminate (HPL) range.
Selected to offer a wide variety of on-trend shades the Formica Colors range provides an inspirational choice of subtle, architecturally inspired neutrals, atmospheric hues and accent colours. The new introductions perfectly update the plain colour palette and complement patterns and textures across the new Formica® Collection, launched this year. It offers designers the flexibility to create co-ordinated, contemporary designs for a whole range of environments and applications.
Carefully selected to answer the latest design trends across Europe the new additions enhance the existing portfolio of 126 colours. Neutrals; Possum, Seed and Fossil work well with greyed woods, concrete finishes and neutral shades creating sophisticated, chromatic modern looks. Viola and Orchid bring additional berry coloured hues for atmospheric, accent colours.
Energy is the first of a new generation of LED inspired colours; pure, clean and dynamic it is a powerful shade. Wasabi, a warmer shade of lime, and acidic Lemon offer a slightly different take on popular greens with a fresh yellow tone. A bridge between these colours is Maui, a soft turquoise, which perfectly complements greyed/smoked woods.
Bringing both deep organic and smoky tones, which partner harmoniously with subtle colours and warm whites, are stylish dark browns Earth and Choco. Indian Smoke and Mojave are lighter variants to the beige-brown palette and are great with dark brown, black or greyed wood grains.
For easy reference purposes, Formica Colors, within the new Collection reference tools have been arranged according to the NCS® colour system, in families starting with the N (neutral)-series. NCS is a favoured colour system of the architectural community and sharing a common colour language has been acknowledged in the structure and organisation of the new Formica Collection.
Co-ordination within and between ranges demonstrates the true usability and versatility of the Formica Collection. With diverse, flexible and exclusive décors, and textures the Formica Collection shows how the Formica Group continues to innovate and lead the market in decorative laminates.
