Exciting New Species and Colours Enhance the Formica® Woods Range
March 2011
A collection of seventeen new colourations, striking layouts and wood grain species has been introduced to the Formica® Woods High Pressure Laminates (HPL) range. Popular in a wide variety of environments this range offers a selection of high quality finishes and dramatic designs.
As one of the most versatile ranges within the Formica® Collection, Formica Woods combine both inspirational and timeless looks. New introductions it includes characteristic horizontal graining, light, dark and neutralised shades and updated colourways.
Based on a strong contrast of heartwood and sapwood an exotic feel can be created by partnering Couture Wood and Vogue Wood. The luxurious Couture Wood reflects a more traditional wood tone whereas Vogue Wood responds to demands for woods with a combination of light and dark red based greys.
High contrast graining has been introduced, applied to lighter coloured and more traditional woods. Classic Walnut and Oiled Walnut provide medium scaled planking and are a popular choice for high end furniture design.
Ivory Oak Cross and Ebony Oak Cross provide horizontal graining ideal for large door applications. Light in colour Ivory Oak Cross provides a reconstituted version of an oak, with low grain contrast and subtle colour play. Ebony Oak Cross is based on a conventional oak layout in a much darker red-based grey representing charred and ebonised wood looks.
Light and dark smoky colourations have been introduced with a grand scale and soft planking which provides an endless non-repeated look. Vintage and Nocturne woods add depth with a low contrast grain. Vintage Wood is coloured in a medium, neutralized, smoky brown, whereas Nocturne Wood is a sophisticated greyed darker brown with tendencies towards violet – a strong fashion statement.
