ColorCore® offers extra dimension to make a dramatic impact.

September 2011

Offering creative opportunities beyond traditional High Pressure Laminate (HPL), ColorCore® is available as part of the Formica® Collection. An innovative through-colour material, ColorCore provides an option for a whole host of applications to create an individual and distinctive look. Unlike traditional laminates where the colour is applied as a top layer, ColorCore goes beyond the surface through the product. ColourCore is ideal for designers looking to create volumetric, homogenous designs in cabinetry, residential and commercial countertops, architectural doors, partitions, shopfitting, exhibits, signage and furniture.

The ideal choice for many interior solutions, ColorCore's hard-wearing characteristics make it suitable for high traffic environments where there is a high risk of scratching and impact damage. Modus Furniture uses ColorCore for its striking Scandinavian inspired collection of bistro, meeting, coffee and occasional tables – Gecko. ColorCore was specified for its longevity; maintaining its appearance, it minimizes costs of repair and replacement, and is easy to clean.

ColorCore is perfect for use in interior vertical and horizontal applications. At Heathrow T5, London ColorCore in black gloss features in the new Hugo Boss concession for bespoke display units where its smooth seamless finish creates a sophisticated look. Worldwide Estee Lauder's Clinique use ColorCore in Soft White on their countertops. Inherently durable, the solid core of colour lends itself well to edging, allowing the creation of monolithic effects or contrasting features to add depth. The surface can be routered, engraved and even sand blasted to produce subtle or bold graphic and three-dimensional effects.

Available in best-selling plain colours from the Formica® Colors range, specifiers have even more choice. Subtle Fossil, a greyed light blue, and Seed, a warm grey/green along with long-time classic Pumice provide for a choice of neutral, warm architectural colours, alongside established classics such as Folkstone, Fog, Storm, Surf and Polar White. Bright, bold colour options including Spectrum Blue, Spectrum Red and Spectrum Yellow are joined by Lime for a zesty, playful look.

The full ColorCore range is offered in a classic Matte finish. Selected colours are also available in alternative textures to create eye catching finishes, a gloss finish offers a look of sophistication, and the premium finish Microdot™ is a subtle grid of concave dots with a low sheen satin finish, providing an intriguing, tactile optical effect.
